Archer Western Construction is seeking an Equipment Operator for the Mid-Atlantic I-81 Project in Roanoke, VA. The role involves operating a variety of heavy equipment to build, maintain or repair highway and civil structures, with opportunities for advancement across our divisions.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of operating experience, the ability to lift 50 lbs, and a commitment to safety and reliability. OSHA/ safety policies, team communication, and willingness to learn are essential.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of heavy equipment operating experience preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in adverse weather conditions.
• Requires the ability to comply with all safety policies and procedures; communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure projects are completed properly.
• Possess a strong work ethic and desire to learn.
• Requires good manual dexterity; may be standing, bending, kneeling or sitting for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Operates a variety of equipment to complete tasks such as clearing land, trimming backfill, and moving and/or transporting materials such as dirt, rocks and other aggregates.
• Must have knowledge of operating procedures related to loading and unloading materials.
• Oil, grease, service, and make maintenance adjustments on equipment; perform daily safety and maintenance checks; complete paperwork and other documentation as needed.
• Perform other related duties as required.
