The position requires reading building plans, excellent mechanical skills, and the ability to work long hours in varied weather conditions. On-the-job training is available with a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of heavy machinery operation and capabilities.
• Ability to read building plans related to structural concrete and land grades.
• Excellent mechanical skills.
• Ability to follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operates heavy machinery for construction, demolition, or excavation.
• Prepares sites for building, demolition, or excavation.
• Reads building plans related to concrete and land grades.
• Transports tools and equipment to and from sites.
• Uses equipment to prepare building sites for exterior concrete like parking lots and driveways.
• Operates machinery used to build bridges, roads, and railroads.
• Inspects and fuels vehicle prior to beginning shift.
• Performs routine maintenance and repairs.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
