Clean Harbors in Decatur, AL is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator – Rail Support at an on-site facility to operate heavy equipment and mobilize railcars across the site. Training will be provided by facility to operator railcar move

This role features 12-hour swing shifts: 3 days on, 3 days off, 2 days on, 2 days off. The company emphasizes Health and Safety, comprehensive benefits after start, and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass background check, drug test and physical per position.
• Ability to operate in indoor/outdoor environments and all weather conditions.
• Basic computer skills and attention to safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies and maintaining safe work.
• Complete daily checklist for proper operation of the unit being operated.
• Operate rail mover from different positions across plant site as needed.
• Ensure unit is operated safely and in line with SOPs.
• Complete and submit paperwork for waste tracking movements.
• Follow local, state/provincial and federal compliance requirements.
• Safely operate vehicles per DOT and other regulations.
• Observe corporate operating guidelines and safety protocols.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Be on call for rotating weekend railcar moves.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes and always acting in a safe manner
• Completes daily checklist as required for proper operation of the unit being operated
• Operate rail mover from different positions throughout plant site per request/need
• Assures unit is never operated in an unsafe manner or in a manner which is inconsistent with Standard Operating Procedures
• Completes and submits all associated paperwork as required for waste tracking movements
• Follow all local, state (provincial) and federal compliance regulations and rules.
• Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state (provincial) and federal requirements
• Safely observe all corporate operating guidelines and procedures
• Observe all company environmental health and safety operating guidelines
• Performs other duties as assigned
• By position, ability to be on call for rotating weekend work for railcar moves as needed
