Job summary

Oregon Steel Mills is seeking an experienced locomotive operator in Portland, Oregon. You will operate locomotives, switch railroad cars in a timely manner, and maintain records and reports. You will work with other rail served departments to keep operations efficient.

• Ability to walk tracks, check railcars and climb stairs.
• Must be able to qualify as a switch crew operator in a reasonable period of time.
• Ability to work in outside environment.
• Ability to work in a self-directed team environment.
• Must be a self-starter, organized, with problem solving skills.
• Must have excellent oral communication skills.
• Good computer skills (Excel, Word, OIS).
• Successful completion of ergonomics evaluation.
• Experience in railroad switching and equipment operation preferred.
