Primoris Services Corporation is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator for our Primoris Heavy Civil team in Lockport, LA. You will operate excavators, bulldozers, graders, loaders, scrapers, and compactors following project specs and safety protocols.

Responsibilities include pre/post operation checks, basic maintenance, reading blueprints and grade stakes, coordinating with ground crews, and maintaining clean, organized work areas while complying with OSHA standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of verifiable experience operating multiple types of heavy construction equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, grades, and stakes.
• Strong understanding of excavation, grading, and earthwork principles.

Job Overview:Primoris Services Corporation is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our Primoris Heavy Civil team in Lockport, LA. This role involves operating a variety of heavy machinery safely and efficiently to support civil construction projects.Job Responsibilities:* Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, graders, loaders, scrapers, compactors, and other construction equipment according to project requirements and safety standards.* Perform daily pre-operation and post-operation checks of equipment, including fluid levels, tire pressure, and general condition, and complete required documentation.* Conduct minor maintenance and lubrication of equipment as needed and report any mechanical issues or defects to supervisors immediately.* Read and interpret blueprints, grade stakes, and other construction documents to ensure accurate excavation, grading, and material placement.* Work collaboratively with ground crew, foremen, and other team members to ensure efficient project execution.* Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, as well as OSHA regulations.* Maintain a clean and organized work area around the equipment.* Assist with other general labor duties on site when equipment operation is not required.Job Qualifications:*** Minimum of 3-5 years of verifiable experience operating multiple types of heavy construction equipment.* Proven ability to read and interpret plans, grades, and stakes.* Strong understanding of excavation, grading, and earthwork principles.* Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; CDL preferred but not always required.* Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow instructions.* Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety.* Physical ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions, including lifting up to 50 lbs.* Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.* High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Company Overview:Primoris Heavy Civil provides highway, port, airfield, rail and marine (intermodal transportation) construction services to private commercial and industrial clients as well as governmental entities such as the Department of Transportation and the US Army Corps of Engineers.
