Job summary

Cajun Industries, LLC is seeking a Light Equipment Operator to operate bulldozers, excavators, front-end loaders, back hoes, forklifts, graders, diggers, drills, generators, saws, pumps and related equipment on construction sites and in plant operations.

You will read load charts and use hand signals to position materials, perform routine maintenance, and inspect equipment daily to ensure safe operation. You will also report issues and assist other crew members to keep projects on schedule.

Qualifications

• Physical: move through active construction environments and operate hand tools and equipment.
• Mental: read, interpret, and apply instructions, plans, safety requirements, and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret load charts
• Interpret hand signals to determine material placement
• Perform minor maintenance or cleaning on tools and equipment
• Perform daily inspections on equipment including checking fluids and refueling
• Report malfunctioning equipment to supervisors
• Load, transport, and unload materials, tools, equipment and supplies
• Assist other craft workers as needed
