Job summary

Akima Support Operations is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to work on-site at Fort Hood, TX. The role involves operating cranes, shovels, loaders and other heavy machinery to excavate, load, and move dirt and materials, with potential overtime and exposure to outdoor conditions.

Qualified candidates will have 4 years of heavy equipment experience, pass pre-employment screening, and be able to obtain a CAC. A valid CDL/Driver’s license and readiness for shift differential may apply.

Qualifications

• 4 years of heavy equipment operation experience.
• Ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening.
• Ability to receive a favorable TIER-1 investigation and obtain/maintain a CAC.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment such as cranes, clamshells, dozers, graders, and other large machinery.
• Use equipment to excavate, load, or move dirt, gravel, or materials.
• Read grade and slope stakes and interpret simple plans; grease and perform basic repairs to equipment.
