Job summary

Akima Support Operations is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to work on-site at Fort Hood, TX. The role involves operating cranes, shovels, loaders and other heavy machinery to excavate, load, and move dirt and materials, with potential overtime and exposure to outdoor conditions.

Qualified candidates will have 4 years of heavy equipment experience, pass pre-employment screening, and be able to obtain a CAC. A valid CDL/Driver’s license and readiness for shift differential may apply.

Qualifications

• 4 years of heavy equipment operation experience.
• Ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening.
• Ability to receive a favorable TIER-1 investigation and obtain/maintain a CAC.

Responsibilities

• Operators operate heavy equipment such as cranes, clamshells, power shovels, motor graders, heavy loaders, carryalls, bulldozers, rollers, scrapers, and large industrial tractors with pan or scrapper attachments.
• Operators use equipment to excavate, load, or move dirt, gravel, or other materials.
• Operators may read and interpret grade and slope stakes and simple plans, and may grease, adjust and make emergency repairs to equipment.
• Physical requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift 50 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching.
• Work environment includes periodic overtime, exposure to heat, dust, cold, and inclement weather conditions.

Qualifications

Pay & Benefits

• Hourly Compensation: $22.57.
• Hourly Health & Welfare: $5.09
• Differential pay for night shift work will range from $1 up to 10% of base hourly rate.
