Job description

Title: Heavy Equipment Operator

Reports to: [Position or Department]

We have received multiple safety awards, including the 2021 Leading Environmental Practices award from the Association of Washington Businesses. Founded in 1999, DTG Recycle is the largest recycler of commercial, industrial, construction, and demolition materials in the Pacific Northwest.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Perform inspections at the beginning and end of shifts.
  2. Operate front-end loader and/or excavator safely and proficiently.
  3. Perform light maintenance on equipment.
  4. Sift large steel and concrete for recycling processes.
  5. Visually screen debris for unacceptable materials.
  6. Identify unacceptable materials on incoming loads.
  7. Communicate effectively with truck drivers regarding offloading locations.
  8. Direct inbound loads to the tipping floor.
  9. Assist coworkers with heavy items.
  10. Maintain safety and cleanliness of the facility.
  11. Be available to work occasional Saturdays.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities:
  1. Experience operating excavators or front-end loaders.
  2. Clean driving record and background.
  3. Ability to pass pre-employment drug testing.
Physical Requirements:
  1. Ability to lift, bend, stoop, and climb for extended periods.
  2. Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
