Job summary

Compass Minerals is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to safely operate front-end loaders, dozer, or excavator to recover raw materials from pond floors and load salt or potash trucks. You will record shift data, perform safety checks, and assist with pond-crew assignments during harvests.

The role requires a high school diploma and proficient computer/navigation skills with Excel, Word, Outlook, and an ERP system.

Responsibilities

• Conduct safety inspections at shift start.
• Record meter readings and equipment condition at shift start.
• Notify maintenance of any issues; log end-of-shift readings.
• Load salt and potash using front-end loader; time truck loading windows.
• Operate dozer to move material; separate by grade/quality.
• Record loads and times for shift reports; supervise pond crew when assigned.
• Ensure equipment safety checks and report defects before operation.
