Job summary

Compass Minerals is seeking a skilled equipment operator to support our salt production operations in Utah. The role focuses on safely operating front-end loaders, dozers, or excavators to recover raw materials and load trucks, while maintaining excellent housekeeping and safety standards.

Responsibilities include daily safety inspections, recording meter readings, coordinating with maintenance, and ensuring loading times (3-7 minutes per truck) are met.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; oversee assigned area.
• PC literate with Excel, Word, Outlook, and Access.
• Experience or education in supervising operations.
• Ability to navigate an ERP system.

Responsibilities

• Conduct safety inspections at shift start.
• Record meter readings and report issues.
• Notify maintenance of problems.
• Load salt and potash trucks within target times (3–7 minutes).
• Complete daily load sheets and submit to supervisor.
• Push material with a dozer to storage areas based on grade.
• Reassign to pond crew during harvest shutdowns.
