Job summary

Crowder Construction Co. seeks an experienced heavy equipment operator for on-site work on Southeast civil infrastructure projects. The role focuses on operating multiple large machines safely and efficiently across digging, trenching, and material handling tasks.

Primary duties include trenching, piping placement, and routine maintenance checks while coordinating with crew leads. A minimum of five years’ operator experience and a strong safety record are required.

Qualifications

Ability to read and interpret simple engineering drawings or diagrams.
Maintain safe work practices and comply with all safety policies.
Demonstrate proficient operation of heavy equipment (dump trucks, loaders, excavators, bulldozers).
Ability to judge distances and slopes accurately for safe operation.
Must have five years of experience safely operating heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

Operate a variety of heavy equipment including dump trucks, loaders, trackhoes, backhoes, water trucks, and bulldozers.
Trench and construct ditches for culverts, water and sewer pipelines; remove silt and debris.
Perform minor repairs and adjustments to equipment in the field.
Check and maintain fluid levels and lubricants; ensure equipment is properly serviced.
Assist other crafts when equipment is not in use.

- Must have own transportation to and from jobsite every work day (driver's license not required)

Primary Function:

Operates heavy equipment including, but not limited to, off-road truck, loader, trackhoe, backhoe, water truck and bulldozer.

Typical Duties include but are not limited to:

Operate a variety of vehicles and large heavy equipment digging trenches, excavations, pushing direct and moving material.
Trench and construct ditches for installation of culverts, water pipes and sewer pipes; remove silt and debris.
Make minor repairs and adjustments to equipment while in the field.
Knowledgeable of equipment in respect to checking and maintaining all fluid levels and lubrication.
Assist other crafts when equipment is not in use.

In some cases, may need the ability to read engineering drawings
