Job summary

Tom's Backhoe and Excavation in Kahului, HI seeks a Heavy Machinery Operator I-IV to support our Maui-area projects. We are a small, family-run company serving the Central Valley and beyond. You will operate backhoes and other heavy equipment, follow plans, and ensure safety on site.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience operating heavy machinery.
• Excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic.
• Honest, hardworking with a positive attitude.
• Drug-free and able to pass random drug tests.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate heavy equipment (backhoe, loader, excavator, dozer, skid steer, roller).
• Safely excavate, move, load, and grade earth, rock, gravel, and other materials.
• Perform daily inspection and basic maintenance to keep machines safe.
• Coordinate with foremen and project managers to follow plans and schedule.
• Assist with laboring, traffic control, and equipment maintenance.
