Job summary

Blue Sage Services seeks motivated Heavy Equipment Operator I to join our Operations team. This role handles entry-level earthmoving vehicles and supports project needs while building skills toward advanced operations.

Ideal candidates have prior labor or construction exposure, are able to learn GPS tech, and can operate equipment safely. Travel may be project-based; we offer benefits and a safety-first work environment.

Qualifications

• Eligible to work in the United States.
• Prior construction or Laborer III experience preferred.
• Ability to safely operate basic construction equipment.
• Strong understanding of Blue Sage Services safety expectations.
• Willingness to learn GPS technology and advanced equipment.
• Ability to work independently while accepting coaching.
• CDL preferred but not required.
• Must pass pre-employment and ongoing drug and alcohol screenings.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate rollers, water trucks, loaders, skid steers, scraper support equipment, and comparable construction equipment.
• Perform daily pre- and post-operation inspections.
• Complete basic grading, hauling, loading, and material handling operations.
• Follow assigned cut and fill plans under supervision.
• Assist with earthwork, utility installation, and project production.
• Maintain awareness of surrounding personnel and jobsite conditions.
• Follow all Blue Sage Services safety protocols, JHAs, and company policies.
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and report maintenance concerns.
• Assist with labor duties when necessary to support project completion.
• Demonstrate continuous improvement through training and coaching.
• Perform daily maintenance services, EX. – greasing, fueling, checking all fluid levels, cleaning filters.

Position Summary

Blue Sage Services is seeking motivated equipment operators to join our team as Heavy Equipment Operator I. This position is designed for individuals who have demonstrated proficiency as a Laborer III or possess equivalent experience operating basic construction equipment. Operator I team members safely operate entry-level heavy equipment while continuing to develop technical skills, production efficiency, and equipment knowledge. This role focuses on building safe operating habits, mastering equipment fundamentals, and preparing for advancement into more complex earthmoving operations.

Key Responsibilities

Work Environment & Schedule

• Work hours may vary based on project demands and operational workload
• Frequent travel may be required depending on project location
