Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various pieces of equipment and performing labor tasks in support of bridge and culvert construction projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect equipment before and after use to ensure good working condition.
  • Operate equipment.
  • Communicate clearly and coordinate activities with members of the team to ensure the efficient, safe and accurate performance of work.
  • Perform manual labor, including digging with a hand shovel or bar.
  • Conduct routine inspection and maintenance on equipment and tools.

Requirements:
  • At least 10 years of experience operating earth moving equipment.
  • Demonstrate skills in the safe operation and daily preventative maintenance of backhoes, excavators, loaders, and skid steers.
  • Hands-on experience in digging safely.
  • Experience working safely in traffic zones.
  • No lifting or physical restrictions.
  • OSHA 10 Certification.
  • Effective and respectful communication with the public and clients.
  • Demonstrate safe and proper use and maintenance of all company tools and equipment.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and move heavy parts and equipment (up to 50 pounds or more).
  • Stamina to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for precise tasks.
  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods.
  • Good vision, including close-up and peripheral vision, for detailed inspections.
  • Hearing ability to diagnose engine and equipment noises.

Compensation:
  • $49-$52 per hour per the appropriate prevailing wage schedule
