Job summary

Gary Carpenter Construction Inc. in Little Rock, AR, seeks an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator with finish-grade and GPS system expertise to support site prep and grading on dirtwork projects.

You’ll operate dozers, excavators, skid steers, loaders, and compactors, read grade stakes with the foreman, and ensure work is finished on schedule and to spec. This is outdoor construction with safety as a priority.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy equipment on excavation or dirtwork.
• Experience with GPS systems such as Trimble, Topcon, Leica.
• Comfortable on uneven ground and tight spaces.
• Willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment for site prep, grading, trenching, and excavation.
• Read grade stakes and work with foreman to meet job specs.
• Load trucks and move dirt, rock, and materials.
• Perform daily equipment checks and report any issues.
• Keep equipment clean and running properly.
• Work safely around other crewmembers and laborers.
• Follow all safety rules and jobsite procedures.
• Pitch in with general labor when equipment isn’t running.
