Job summary

Scotts Miracle-Gro in Geismar, LA, seeks a Heavy Equipment Operator to support plant operations. You will prepare organic mixes, operate loaders and other heavy equipment, and ensure stockpiles are properly managed for production.

Qualifications include high school diploma or GED, 1+ year experience with medium/heavy equipment, ability to lift 50 pounds, and the capacity to work in dusty conditions and variable weather. Competitive benefits offered.

• Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.
• One or more years of experience using medium and/or heavy equipment.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Physical ability to climb in and out of equipment.
• Ability to sit for long periods.
• Ability to safely operate heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
• Clean, maintain and secure all equipment as directed by management and company policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
