Work Here!* Maintains equipment on a scheduled basis; maintains maintenance records.* Grades ditches, elevations, drainage channels, sets culverts and finishes concrete work.* Performs shop duties as needed.* Assists with construction projects.* Supervises a work crew on a project basis.* Assists other employees with their duties; performs work of lower level positions as necessary.* Held accountable for all equipment used and uniforms issued.* Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.**MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:*** High School Diploma/GED.* 2 years job related experience as an Equipment Operator.* Valid Texas Commercial Driver’s License.* Herbicide and Insecticide Certification must be obtained within 1 year of employment.* Good driving skills and thorough knowledge of and ability to operate required heavy equipment.* Ability to understand and carry out instructions and complete assignment in a timely fashion.* Good verbal and written communication skills.* Good interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public and other employees.**STARTING SALARY RANGE:** $20.50 - $25.63 per hour based on qualifications**CLOSING DATE:** Upon filling position**All full-time and part-time employees are members of the Texas County District Retirement System (TCDRS).
