Job summary

Miller Pipeline is seeking Equipment Operators to contribute to our heavy equipment operations in Reserve, LA. This full-time, permanent role involves excavations, installing underground cable and conduit, and coordinating attachments on tractors to support utility projects.

Successful candidates will have a strong background in operating heavy equipment, the ability to assess ground conditions, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Operator's apprentice program completed and/or 3+ years of heavy equipment experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must pass computer-based testing per local operator qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Digging, filling, back-filling, grading or other excavation work including trenches, pits or tunnels.
• Distinguishes between properties, types and moisture content of soils.
• Installation of underground cable and conduit as well as overhead cable.
• Fasten attachments to tractor with clevis or wedge pin hitches.
• Connect hydraulic hoses, belts, mechanical linkage, or power takeoff shaft to tractor to provide power to raise, lower, or tilt attachments.
• Move levers and depress pedals to maneuver tractor and raise, lower, and tilt attachment to clear right-of-way.
• Assess the area to determine if the utilities were properly located prior to performing the underground work.
• Review the terrain to determine the best method to perform the job.
• Operate vehicles for hauling.
