Gerber Construction is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator for projects in the Hanksville area. The role includes lodging and a per diem for meals for those located over an hour away, with opportunities to work on diverse site structures and dewatering operations.

The ideal candidate has at least 4 years of heavy equipment experience, strong plan-reading skills, and is willing to travel and stay out of town when required. Safety and reliability are essential for this position.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of heavy equipment operating experience.
• Proficient in reading construction plans and elevations.
• Experience with underground piping and dewatering systems.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Willingness to travel and stay out of town when necessary.
• Strong work ethic and commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment including track hoe, loader, and rock truck in a safe and efficient manner.
• Accurately set grades and interpret construction plans and elevations.
• Perform tasks related to underground utility installation and piping systems.
• Assist with dewatering operations, ensuring water is properly managed on-site.
• Maintain and inspect equipment to ensure operational readiness.
• Comply with all safety policies, procedures, and regulations on job sites.
• Travel to and from work independently.
• Be available to travel and work out of town as needed.
