Skillit is hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator in Fayetteville, GA. You will operate excavators, dozers, backhoes, skid steers, graders and vibratory compactors across earthworks, grading and paving tasks. The role requires following grade stakes, site plans, and safety rules on active construction sites outdoors.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating excavator, dozer, backhoe, skid steer and grader on construction sites.
• Practical knowledge of heavy equipment maintenance and pre-start inspections.
• Experience with earthmoving, finish grading and paving support on civil sites.
• Ability to follow grade stakes and read basic site plans.
• OSHA 10-hour construction card or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators, dozers, backhoes, skid steers, graders and vibratory compactors for earthmoving and paving tasks.
• Perform site grading, trenching, backfilling and finish-grade work to plans and stakes.
• Assist with equipment setup, inspections and basic repairs to keep machines safe.
• Follow safety plans, wear PPE and coordinate with foremen and crew to meet schedule.
