Job summary

The City of Dallas is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to support construction and maintenance of city facilities and utilities, including roads and sewer systems. You will work in all weather conditions using a variety of heavy machinery.

The role requires four years of experience with at least two years on heavy equipment, a valid Class A CDL, and a Texas driver's license. You will plan daily work, train crew members, and ensure safety and quality on every project.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience as an equipment operator, with at least two years on heavy equipment.
• Valid Class A CDL is required.
• Texas driver’s license with good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Operates and drives heavy equipment used in construction and maintenance of City facilities.
• Plans daily work routes and coordinates with crews.
• Trains crew and lower-level operators on equipment use and safety.
• Completes work orders and maintains safety procedures.
• Transports earth-moving equipment to job sites as needed.
