Job summary

Interstate Earthworks, LLC seeks a Heavy Equipment Operator to drive bulldozers and excavators on our Cisco, TX site, supporting heavy earthwork and site development projects. This role requires a strong track record in construction and safe operation of heavy machinery.

You will follow safety procedures, perform routine equipment inspections, and assist with loading trucks and grade work. A 3–5 year background in excavator and dozer operation is essential, with the ability to work independently

Qualifications

  • Must have at least 3-5 years recent experience in construction as a heavy equipment operator.
  • Must be experienced bulldozer and excavator operator.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Operates heavy equipment of various sizes and weights used in excavation and site construction.
  • Properly follows company safety procedures. Brings problems to the attention of the foreman, superintendent, safety director or HR manager.
  • Performs routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refers defects or needed repairs to the supervisor; cleans equipment.
  • Candidate will possess knowledge of moisture condition, cut grade, and ability to load trucks.

Position Summary

The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating a variety of equipment(mainly bulldozer and excavator) used in construction, maintenance, and excavation.

Key Roles / Responsibilities
  • Operates heavy equipment of various sizes and weights used in excavation and site construction.
  • Properly follows company safety procedures. Brings problems to the attention of the foreman, superintendent, safety director or HR manager.
  • Performs routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refers defects or needed repairs to the supervisor; cleans equipment.
  • Candidate will possess knowledge of moisture condition, cut grade, and ability to load trucks
  • Candidate will possess knowledge of cutting and filling grade
  • Prefer knowledge of GPS
Required Education, Experience, And Qualifications
  • Must have at least 3-5 years recent experience in construction as a heavy equipment operator
  • Must be experienced bulldozer and excavator operator.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate.
  • Friendly disposition, personable and professional.
  • Must work independently and as a member of team.
  • Recognizes confidential information and maintains it in accordance with standard procedures.
  • High School diploma or equivalent, preferred
  • Excavator experience, a must.
  • Dozer experience, a must.
  • Roller experience, a plus
  • Motor Grader experience, a plus
  • Articulated Truck experience, a plus
Working Conditions
  • Bending, lifting, climbing, pushing, pulling, kneeling, sitting stand, walk, kneel, stoop, squat, pull, push, climb, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and see and standing (occasionally) for long periods of time.
  • The essential duties of this position require moderate to heavy lifting and carrying.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting on a forklift or other warehouse equipment.
  • Exposure to moderate noise levels, vibrations, and bright lights; and exposure to dust, fumes, and gases; and all climate types including hot and cold temperatures, humidity, rain, snow, etc.
  • Able to wear common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, breathing protection, and hard hats when needed.
  • Able to work under stressful conditions at times.
  • React quickly using hands, fingers, or feet.
  • Must be able to move and lift to 40-pound wooden skid or pallet.
  • Ability to travel throughout facility as required to conduct safety inspections.
  • Must be able to comprehend and follow written and oral instructions.
  • Must be able to complete tasks even with frequent interruptions.
  • Must be able to use discretion and independent judgment as needed.
  • Must be able to speak clearly on the phone and to fellow workers.
