Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an Operator Apprentice to operate a variety of equipment on site per safety policies. The role emphasizes hands-on training, adherence to procedures, and teamwork in a fast-paced construction environment.

You will perform routine equipment checks, assist with maintenance, follow pre-task plans, and contribute to project safety and efficiency while developing core operating skills for a future career with Mortenson.

Qualifications

• One year of related equipment operation experience.
• Valid driver’s license with endorsements as required by law.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and load charts.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work with a team and follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment such as blade, dozer, loader, scraper, forklift/telehandler, crane, bobcat/skid-steer, boom lifts/aerial lifts, roller, backhoe, and track crane.
• Follow safety regulations and maintain clean and organized work area.
• Perform routine maintenance and observe equipment operation to detect malfunctions.
• Follow work plans and pre-task cards.
• Build relationships with colleagues at various levels.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
