Job summary

Wood is seeking Heavy Equipment Operators with civil construction experience for a 2-month project in Ingleside, Texas. The schedule is 13/1 with 12-hour days and per diem is provided.

You will operate excavators, backhoes, track hoes, dozers and lifts, perform routine maintenance, and help ensure safety and environmental compliance on site. A TWIC card is required and U.S. work authorization without sponsorship is needed.

Qualifications

• Experience operating backhoe, track hoe, forklift, manlift and skid steer.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts in varying temperatures and conditions.
• U.S. work authorization without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoe, track hoe, dozers, and side booms
• Excavate near active utilities
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment
• Assist in maintaining environmental compliance
• Relay soils to match preexisting grade lines
• Observe load hook up and determine safety of load
• Manipulates controls to regulate speed and direction of equipment and hoist movements according to written, verbal or signal instructions
• Clean and maintain equipment and hoisting mechanisms
• Inspect equipment for defective parts, documents and notifies the equipment foreman or supervisor of any defects or malfunctions
• Load, transport and unloads materials, tools, equipment and supplies
• Perform minor maintenance or cleaning activities on tools and equipment
• Inspect rigging and related equipment
• Required to understand and interpret load charts
