Job summary

U.S. Silica is seeking a safety-focused Mobile Equipment Operator at our Lamesa, Texas plant. You will safely operate heavy mobile equipment to support daily mining and production operations in a fast-paced outdoor environment.

The ideal candidate is dependable, committed to safety and quality, and capable of teamwork on rotating 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM–7:00 PM or 7:00 PM–7:00 AM). Out-of-area employees may receive man camp accommodations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to work a rotating 12-hour shift schedule (7:00 AM–7:00 PM / 7:00 PM–7:00 AM).
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate heavy mobile equipment, including loaders, dozers, excavators, and other assigned equipment.
• Perform pre-operational inspections and complete required equipment checklists before each shift.
• Transport and move materials to support mining and production activities.
• Assist with site cleanup, housekeeping, and maintaining a safe work environment.
• Monitor equipment performance and promptly report mechanical issues or unsafe conditions.
• Follow all company safety policies, operating procedures, and environmental regulations.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure efficient operations.
• Participate in safety meetings, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
