Job summary

Conco Construction is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator in Wichita, KS to join our team. You will operate site machinery, grade surfaces, and support excavation and mass grading efforts on commercial projects.

Responsibilities

• Excavate and grade footings, building pads, parking lots and other surfaces related to commercial construction.
• Understand and meet production goals.
• Understand compaction and moisture testing requirements.
• Identify faults in equipment and take measures to fix them.
• Operate equipment such as loader, dozer, scraper, motor grader, and excavator.
• Perform mass grading and foundation excavation.
• Read civil prints and control grading.

Responsibilities and Qualifications:

• Excavate and grade footings, building pads, parking lots and other surfaces related to commercial construction.
• Understand and meet production goals
• Understand compaction and moisture testing requirements
• Identify faults in equipment and take measures to fix them
• Experience in operating equipment such as: loader, dozer, scraper, motor grader, and excavator
• Experience with mass grading and foundation excavation
• Valid Driver’s License
• Ability to read civil prints and control grading

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds or greater occasionally and 25-50 pounds frequently
• Must be able to work outdoors and stand for majority of the day
• Must be able to perform tasks while walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and handling

Additional responsibilities will be assigned based on experience and performance.

Other considerations:

• All offers of employment are conditioned by successfully passing a background check, drug screen and physical capacity test
• Wages are based on experience and performance
• Must be able to work outside the normal operating hours (7am-4pm, winter/fall 7am-3:30pm, spring/summer)
• Employees are responsible for transportation to and from the job site
