Job summary

Esposito Construction is seeking an Equipment Operator with field experience for projects across New Jersey. The role requires operating loaders, dozers, excavators and related machinery on underground utility and heavy civil works.

Candidates should be hands-on, self-starters with a proven track record, able to work in a team, and committed to safety; OSHA 10/30 preferred. Competitive pay DOE and excellent benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work in a team setting.
• Experience operating heavy equipment preferred (loaders, dozers, excavators).
• OSHA 10 and/or 30 preferred for safety.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy machinery for excavation, trenching, and backfilling on underground utility and heavy civil projects.
• Dig and prepare trenches for water, sewer, storm, and other pipe installations, including working safely around existing utilities.
• Load, move, and place dirt, gravel, and other materials as needed to support pipe installation and site work.
• Assist in assembling, laying, and connecting pipe systems in trenches according to project specifications.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and crew members to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks.
• Stage and manage equipment and materials on-site to keep operations running efficiently.
• Provide input for daily and weekly reports, including progress, material usage, and equipment operation.
• Follow strict safety protocols, maintain trench safety, and contribute to a culture of safety awareness on every job.

Candidates must have experience running loaders, dozers, excavators and various other machines. Candidates must also have knowledge of site work, earth moving, and utilities installation. Experience with pipe and/or utility work is a plus. We are seeking someone who is motivated, hands-on, self-starter with a proven track record.

Qualifications:

• Must be able to work in team setting
• Pipe experience preferred but not required
• Physically capable to work on your feet and lift/move material productively
• Must have a good pair of work boots
• OSHA 10 and/or 30 Preferred
