Job description

Capital Paving and Construction is seeking to fill several Heavy Equipment Operator positions based in Springfield, MO. Candidates should have experience operating Dozers, Skid Steers, and Graders. These are full-time, benefits-eligible roles.

Responsibilities

1. Operate equipment safely and efficiently under various weather conditions, while exposed to dampness, fumes, dust, electrical, mechanical, and traffic hazards.
2. Skillfully operate heavy construction equipment such as scrapers, graders, trenchers, rock cutters, loaders, rollers, bulldozers, and other machinery, in accordance with traffic laws and regulations.
3. Perform routine maintenance to keep equipment clean and operational.
4. Coordinate with foreman and coworkers regarding daily job specifications.
5. Operate power-driven machinery like jackhammers and tampers.
6. Adapt to job modifications and assume additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
7. Use hand tools such as rakes and shovels.
8. Work in various physical positions throughout the day, including standing, stooping, and bending.
9. Perform general labor duties when necessary.

Requirements

1. Experience operating heavy equipment.
2. Punctuality, strong work ethic, and good attendance.
3. Ability to work as part of a team.
4. Class A CDL is a plus.
5. Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs.
6. Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
7. Willingness to work overtime, nights, and weekends as needed.
8. Reliable transportation and willingness to travel/out of town.
9. Must pass pre-employment physical, drug/alcohol screening, and background check.
