Job summary

Sunbelt Solomon is hiring a Material Handler in Kansas to move, store, and manage materials for transformers. Responsibilities include locating, pulling, delivering materials, and preparing shipments while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The role requires forklift experience, familiarity with warehouse systems, and a track record of safety. You will operate equipment, keep areas clean, and support audits and continuous improvement efforts in a dynamic facility.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma/GED preferred.
  • 1 year of experience in material handling equipment (forklift, crane, etc.) preferred.
  • WMS (Warehouse Management System) experience preferred.
  • OSHA10 certification preferred
  • A proven track record in safety excellence is required.
  • Adheres to all safety and environmental compliance regulations set by the organization.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders.
  • Meet department and production goals set by supervisor.
  • Ensure product quality meets company and client expectations.
  • Possess a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, cooperative attitude, strong attention to detail and can work in a team environment.
  • Adheres to the companys employee handbook policies and embodies the organizations core values.
  • Ability to learn other department job functions and fill in as needed.
  • Complete company compliance and safety training when required.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and work under pressure in a fast-paced work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Pull materials and supplies to support production.
  • Locate materials and supplies by checking production orders.
  • Deliver and open materials to maintain in-process inventory.
  • Document materials and records of units delivered and their locations.
  • Prepare finished stock for shipment including packing and labeling.
  • Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment.
  • Keep inventory areas, loading zones and machinery clean.
  • Receive and inspect incoming materials for quality, quantity, and accuracy.
  • Verify inventory by counting and investigating discrepancies.
  • Store items in orderly locations and label units.
  • Handle documentation of work orders and shipping documents.
  • Maintain inventory transactions and perform cycle counts.
  • Assist with audits and safety training as needed.
  • Work with a flexible schedule in a fast-paced environment.

They play a key role in the supply chain and logistics, ensuring that products are available to the team when needed and that shipments are on time and meet quality standards.   • Ensures orderly production and distribution of products by pulling
  • Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
  • Maintains in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies.
  • Documents materials and records units delivered and location of units.
  • Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product.
  • Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections.
  • Operates forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move items, or signals machine operators to move materials.
  • Keeps inventory, loading areas, and machinery clean.
  • Receive and inspect incoming materials and products for quality,
quantity, and accuracy of shipment.
  • Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts
of stock and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.
  • Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.
  • Mark units with identification tags or other labeling equipment.
  • Handling documentation of work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders to route materials.
  • Maintain inventory transactions and perform cycle counts to ensure accuracy of stock levels.
  • Assist with inventory control and audits as needed.
  • Maintain safe, clean, and orderly workstation.
  • Other assigned duties as needed.
