Role Description

The Heavy Equipment Operator is a full-time, on-site role based in St Augustine, FL and the surrounding northeast Jacksonville Area. This role is responsible for operating a variety of heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, bulldozers, and other machinery to support excavation, grading, trenching, and general civil construction activities. Day-to-day tasks include reading and following plans or directions from supervisors, safely maneuvering equipment in active work zones, performing basic pre- and post-operation inspections, and reporting any mechanical issues. The Heavy Equipment Operator will work closely with site crews to maintain productivity, follow safety protocols, and ensure materials are moved and placed according to project specifications. The role may also involve assisting with routine maintenance, site clean-up, and adherence to environmental and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated proficiency in Heavy Equipment and Equipment Operation, including safe use of excavators, loaders, and similar machinery.
• Experience in Excavation tasks and working with Used Equipment in active construction environments.
• Knowledge of Equipment Maintenance practices, including conducting basic inspections and identifying mechanical issues.
• Understanding of construction site safety standards and willingness to follow company safety policies and procedures.
• Ability to read and follow instructions, job plans, and basic site layouts; strong attention to detail and situational awareness.
• Reliable attendance, ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and capability to perform physical tasks such as climbing in and out of equipment.
• Previous experience as a heavy equipment operator in civil or infrastructure projects preferred; relevant certifications or licenses are an advantage.
• Valid driver's license and eligibility to work in the United States.
