Job summary

MJD Excavating, Inc. in Rehoboth, MA is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. This full-time role involves operating excavators, loaders, bulldozers, skid steers, and backhoes on various job sites during construction.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years' experience, a valid and up-to-date 2A hoisting license, a valid driver's license, and a reliable vehicle. Monday–Friday shift with potential overtime on Saturdays.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of heavy equipment operating experience.
• Ability to read/interpret site plans.
• Perform site preparations, trenching, grading, and basic equipment maintenance.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain records.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate excavators, loaders, bulldozers, skid steers, backhoes, and related equipment.
• Read and interpret site plans.
• Perform site preparations, trenching, grading, and routine maintenance.
• Follow safety procedures and protocols.
• Troubleshoot issues and communicate effectively.
• Maintain basic records and ensure equipment readiness.

Job description

MJD Excavating, Inc. is looking to add a new Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team! We are a family and veteran-owned company based out of Rehoboth, MA, with over 30 years of experience in both commercial and residential excavation.

As a Heavy Equipment Operator at MJD, you will work on various job sites throughout the stages of construction while utilizing our assortment of equipment/machines. Our Heavy Equipment Operators work Monday-Friday, with possible overtime on Saturdays.

We are looking for a knowledgeable, trustworthy individual with the drive to become a valuable member of our team. Our ideal candidate will have 5+ years' experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator, a valid and up-to-date 2A hoisting license, a valid and up-to-date driver's license, and a reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities/Skills/Qualifications:

• Ability to safely operate excavators, loaders, bulldozers, skid steers, backhoes, etc.
• Ability to read/interpret site plans.
• Perform site preparations, trenching, grading, etc.
• Perform basic equipment/machine maintenance.
• Follow safety procedures/protocols.
• Troubleshooting/problem-solving skills.
• Communication skills.
• Basic record-keeping skills.
• Physical stamina required (i.e. ability to withstand heat, cold; ability to lift heavy objects).
• Highschool diploma or equivalent preferred.
