Responsibilities

• Operate a motor grader to establish proper grade and drainage for concrete placement, road construction, and site development.
• Perform fine grading of subgrade and base materials to meet elevation, slope, and compaction requirements.
• Read and interpret blueprints, grade stakes, and survey data to determine required grade and slope.
• Work closely with site supervisors, concrete crews, and survey teams to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Conduct pre-operational inspections and routine maintenance on the grader (e.g., fluid checks, lubrication, cleaning).
• Maintain safe working conditions and comply with all company safety policies and OSHA standards.
• Report equipment issues or hazards to the supervisor immediately.
• Operate additional heavy equipment (such as loaders or dozers) as needed.

Position Overview:

Equipment Operator is responsible for operating a motor grader to perform fine grading, base preparation, and surface leveling for concrete and sitework projects. This role supports the successful completion of roadways, foundations, slabs, and other concrete structures by ensuring grade accuracy and surface quality per project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate a motor grader to establish proper grade and drainage for concrete placement, road construction, and site development.
• Perform fine grading of subgrade and base materials to meet elevation, slope, and compaction requirements.
• Read and interpret blueprints, grade stakes, and survey data to determine required grade and slope.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of soil types, compaction, and drainage principles.

Certifications:

• Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required).
• Heavy equipment operator certification or equivalent experience.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit for extended periods and work in various weather conditions.
• Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.

Preferred Qualities:

• Experience working on concrete paving or flatwork projects.
• Familiarity with Trimble or Topcon GPS grade control systems.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Team-oriented attitude with good communication skills.
