Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Prior experience operating large transposition equipment is preferred.
• Heavy industrial manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Must be willing to work a rotating shift including days, nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Operates all large transportation equipment including front-end loader, overhead crane, Taylor Big Red forklift, Rail King, and Sennebogen to transport raw materials, finished product, and railcars.
• Transports pipe and steel plates from production and coating mills to other staging areas as necessary.
• Stacks/un-stacks pipe for loading, coating or repair.
• Stocks steel plates in designated areas.
• Operates equipment with knowledge of weight limits and clearance, obeys traffic rules within Port of Panama City.
• Performs routine inspection and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Ensures pipe movement is reported and documented.
• Maintains required certifications and licenses.
• Performs area housekeeping tasks.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Borusan Berg Pipe is one of the leading manufacturers of large-diameter steel line pipe in North America. We are a mid-sized manufacturer with two U.S. locations specializing in pipe production for the oil and gas sector. We are seeking a full-time HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR for our Mobile, Alabama location.

Compensation & Benefits

• Entry Rate: $24.87 per hour, $27.73 after fully trained
• Anniversary % rate increases at 1 year up to 8 years

Primary Duties

• Operates all large transportation equipment including the front-end loader, overhead crane, Taylor Big Red (Forklift), Rail King, and Wheeled Material Handler (Sennebogen), to transport raw materials, finished product, and railcars during the steel pipe manufacturing process.
• Transports pipe and steel plates from the production mill and coating mill from other staging areas as necessary.
• Properly stacks/un-stacks pipe for loading, coating or repair.
• Properly stocks steel plates in designated areas.
• Exercises knowledge and safely operates equipment to include weight limits, clearances, and obey all traffic rules within the Port of Panama City.
• Performs routine inspection and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Ensures all pipe movement is reported and documented.
• Maintain required certifications and licenses.
• Performs area housekeeping tasks.
• Performs other miscellaneous duties and tasks as assigned.

Education & Work Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
• Prior experience in operating large transposition equipment (Preferred)
• Heavy industrial manufacturing experience (Preferred)
• must be willing to work a rotating shift including days, nights and weekends
