Job summary

Nucor Corporation in Louisville, KY is hiring for a yard technician to support River Metals Recycling LLC. The role includes operating mobile heavy equipment, following safety procedures, and coordinating with team members. Compensation is up to $90,000 per year.

Work schedule is 3 PM – 11 PM, Monday through Friday. Candidates should be able to communicate in English, inspect materials, greet customers, and maintain a safe, productive yard environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate mobile heavy equipment of various sizes and types (mobile shear, excavator, grapple and magnet material handlers).
• Communicate over radio with team members for traffic coordination, production, and safety procedures.
• Perform daily inspections on equipment and report any defects or needed repairs to supervisor.
• Greet customers coming into the yard and direct them to the proper location to unload materials from their vehicles.
• Inspect material brought in by customers for existence of non-acceptable items and ensure that those prohibited materials are not left on Company property.
• Interact with customers and team members to facilitate a safe and productive yard environment.
