Job summary

Veolia | North America is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator in Carteret, NJ to operate a variety of heavy equipment safely and efficiently. You will perform routine checks, maintain equipment, and ensure clean, properly secured gear for daily operations.

The role requires 1+ years of wheel loader experience, willingness to work outdoors in non-climate-controlled environments, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1+ years experience using a wheel loader/front-end loader.
  • Willingness to work in outdoor, non-climate-controlled environments.
  • Willingness to wear provided PPE (eye protection, steel-toed shoes, gloves, Tyvek coveralls, respirator).
  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds throughout shift.

Responsibilities

  • Operate all equipment safely according to local, state, federal regulations and company policies.
  • Perform and document daily safety and maintenance checks.
  • Perform minor preventative and other maintenance.
  • Clean equipment as scheduled or as needed.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned by management.

The Heavy Equipment Operator

The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating a variety of heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Heavy equipment may include wheel loaders, excavators; screening, crushing, and material conveying systems; street sweepers; skid steers; and other similar equipment. The Heavy Equipment Operator must also clean, inspect, and secure all equipment and perform minor preventative and other maintenance on his/her equipment.



Primary Responsibilities


  • Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner according to all relevant local, state, and federal regulations and all company policies and procedures.

  • Perform and document daily safety and maintenance checks.

  • Perform minor preventative and other maintenance.

  • Clean equipment as scheduled or necessary.

  • Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management



Qualifications


Basic Required Qualifications


  • High school diploma or GED

  • 1+ years experience using a wheel loader/front-end loader

  • Willingness and ability to work in non-climate-controlled environments, including working outdoors

  • Willingness and ability to wear company provided personal protection equipment including eye protection, steel toed shoes, gloves, Tyvek coveralls and respirator

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds throughout the workday



Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience in using an excavator, skid steer loader, and other relatedheavy equipment



Hourly Rate: $20-24



Additional Information
