Martin Marietta is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator at our Sedalia Quarry in Sedalia, MO. The role involves safely operating heavy equipment to move material within the plant, with a work week that often exceeds 40 hours.

Hours are 6am - 5pm, Monday to Friday, with potential 55-60 hour weeks. A valid US driver’s license and prior experience are required to support efficient, safe operations in an outdoor quarry setting.

Responsibilities

Martin Marietta is currently looking for a Heavy Equipment Operator at our Sedalia Quarry in Sedalia, MO. This position is responsible for safely operating heavy equipment to move material within the plant.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Participate in safety programs and training, promoting Martin Marietta's Guardian Angel culture
• Inspect equipment for signs of wear
• Perform basic maintenance on heavy mobile equipment
• Work in a team environment
• Clean work areas
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
• Proper wear of personal protective equipment
• Notify supervisors of repairs needed
• Ensure materials are properly loaded according to safety requirements
• Assist in plant maintenance and repairs
• Perform duties with minimum supervision

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education and Experience:

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent
• 1+ years of related experience
• Valid US driver's license

Skills:

• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Knowledge of MSHA regulations
• Effective verbal communication
• Knowledge of machines and tools including their design, use and maintenance

Physical Abilities

• Ability to work in an outdoor environment year-round
• General physical activities include climbing stairs and ladders, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, reach with hands and arms, and handling material
