Qualifications

• 1–3 years of teaching or industry training experience with a strong background in operating heavy equipment.
• Current state and national certifications; preference for Maine CDL certification and operator certifications/trainings.
• Knowledge of Medium/Heavy Duty Truck standards and OSHA regulations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction in classroom and hands-on settings, including indoor and outdoor classes, shop work, and off-site projects.
• Develop and revise curriculum; deliver classroom and laboratory instruction; collaborate with the Department Chair; ensure effective course scheduling and delivery.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and MCCS/WCCC policies; provide student academic advising.
• Participate in student recruitment activities; contribute to program accreditation assessment and evaluation; engage in professional development.
• Maintain contact with students outside the classroom; support student success and diverse learners.
• Utilize Brightspace or other Learning Management Systems to support and enhance student learning.
• Maintain a flexible schedule, including availability for day and evening instruction.
• Cultivate and maintain collaborative relationships with educational institutions and external stakeholders to support program growth.
