Job summary

Wallenius Wilhelmsen group in Brunswick, GA is hiring a Manufacturing-Mechanic/Welder to maintain and repair heavy equipment. The role requires MIG welding, diagnostic work, and the ability to operate large machinery and forklifts. Expect fieldwork outdoors, lifting up to 50 lbs, and reading schematics.

Qualifications

• Must have a current valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• High School education or demonstrated ability to interpret plans and directions to execute duties.
• Knowledge observing and listening to operating equipment to determine malfunctions.
• Proficiency in the use of basic hand tools including hammers, saws, wrenches and pliers, torque wrenches, and air powered equipment.
• Knowledge of mechanical devices, and tools, including designs, uses, benefits, repair, and maintenance.
• Must pass post-offer drug screen and background check as a condition of hire.

Responsibilities

• Work knowledge of mechanical and technical systems and apply this knowledge hands-on.
• Complete all documents with work orders.
• Apply knowledge of gasoline and diesel engines and related systems.
• MIG weld when needed.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose systems for disassembly, repair, and reassembly.
• Use test equipment, hand tools, and measuring equipment.
• Read schematics and prints.
• Operate heavy construction equipment and forklifts.
• Lift overhead 50 pounds and work at heights up to 15 feet.
• Work outdoors in diverse weather conditions.
• Work in environments with dirt, dust, and fumes.
