Position Overview

Step into the shoes of a Heavy Equipment Mechanic at Foss Recycling, where your proficiency in diagnostics and repairs makes a direct impact. You will be responsible for inspecting, servicing, and maintaining our expansive range of heavy-duty metal recycling equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults using computerized testing tools and other diagnostic equipment.
• Adjust equipment and replace faulty parts to ensure operational efficiency.
• Perform both routine maintenance and major repairs on a variety of heavy equipment types.
• Collaborate with other mechanics and report directly to management to maintain fleet integrity.
• Ensure all repairs and maintenance comply with safety and operational standards.
• Travel as required to various Foss Recycling locations to support fleet maintenance needs.

• Proven experience as a Diesel or Heavy Equipment Mechanic.

• MUST have your own tools.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certification as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic preferred.
• Extensive experience in repairing and maintaining heavy-duty equipment.
• Minimum of 5 years heavy equipment mechanic experience.

Additional Requirements

• Valid Driver's License (required).
• Ability to commute to La Grange, NC 28551 (required).
