Job summary
Vandalia Rental is seeking a qualified Heavy Equipment Mechanic to service a wide range of equipment and perform preventive maintenance. The role includes hands-on repairs, pre-delivery inspections, and phone-based troubleshooting to assist customers.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3+ years as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or experience with similar diesel equipment.
- Proficient with electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems.
- Love to work on construction, agricultural and industrial equipment.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Able to read, write and speak English proficiently.
- Valid driver’s license; CDL a plus.
- Able to lift 100 pounds with assistance.
- Able to sit/stand for long shifts; able to stoop, kneel, bend and grip.
- Able to work around dust, grease and shop odors.
- Positive attitude and willingness to have fun.
Responsibilities
- Perform repairs and all levels of preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Perform Pre-delivery inspections on new equipment.
- Repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and engine systems on equipment.
- Assist customers via telephone with troubleshooting equipment issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
