Job summary

Duininck is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic | Field Technician to diagnose and repair heavy construction equipment in the field. You will travel to multiple sites across Texas and Oklahoma from a local shop base, performing troubleshooting and repairs to keep projects on schedule.

Qualifications

• Previous mechanical experience on heavy equipment, including asphalt plant equipment.
• Extensive knowledge of diesel engines and construction equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and trouble shooting skills.
• Basic welding skills.
• Class A Commercial Driver’s License is preferred.
• Certification as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic is a plus.
• Good communication skills. Bilingual is a plus.
• Understand and adhere to all safety regulations.
• Understand and adhere to the Personal Protection Equipment requirements.
• An unwavering focus on safety.
• OSHA compliance.
• Willingness to travel throughout Texas and Oklahoma.

Responsibilities

• Drive to job sites to inspect and repair construction equipment.
• Diagnose faults and read schematics.
• Hydraulic troubleshooting and reading hydraulic schematics.
• Discuss equipment problems with supervisor and others as needed.
• Repair, replace, calibrate, adjust and/or rebuild components.
• Test repaired equipment for proper operation.
• Inspect, change fluids and wear parts; perform routine maintenance.
• Perform welding and fabrication as needed.
• Read manuals and training materials; maintain knowledge of equipment.
• Report damaged or faulty equipment to management.
• Assist with ordering parts and supplies for repair.
• Record work performed and materials used; maintain logs.
