Job summary

The role involves preventive maintenance, welding, and occasional Truck Driver duties. CDL is helpful; state Master Heavy Duty Truck Mechanic certification is preferred. Salary starts at $26.50/hr with raises after 6 months and 1 year.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in heavy-duty truck and equipment repair
• Strong working knowledge of gas and diesel engines
• Knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems and components
• Ability to use diagnostic equipment and repair tools safely and effectively
• Ability to maintain files and repair documentation
• Ability to work with others and interact professionally with the public
• Ability to work extended hours when needed
• Supervisory experience is a plus
• Physically capable of lifting up to 100 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on trucks, vehicles, and mechanical equipment.
• Diagnose, service, and repair gas and diesel-powered equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair engines, brakes, electrical systems, fuel systems, hydraulics, transmissions, ignition and exhaust systems, axles, cooling systems, and air conditioning.
• Inspect equipment, identify mechanical problems, and determine needed repairs.
• Use computer diagnostic equipment along with hand, electric, and air-powered tools.
• Inspect, adjust, repair, and replace parts and components as needed.
• Perform welding, metal cutting, minor body repair, and related fabrication work.
• Change and repair tires and tubes.
• Maintain appropriate repair records and documentation.
• Perform Truck Driver duties when needed.
