Job summary

Akima Global Logistics in Anchorage, AK is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to support Army vehicle and MHE maintenance. You will perform inspections, diagnose faults, and execute preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure serviceability.

Requirements include 3–5 years’ experience on military/heavy equipment, knowledge of Army PMCS and GCSS-Army, and the ability to obtain security clearances. Willingness to travel up to 25% and hold a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ experience as a mechanic on military or heavy equipment.
• Proficiency with Army maintenance standards and PMCS.
• Ability to travel within the United States up to 25% and obtain security credentials.

Responsibilities

• Inspect heavy equipment and MHE during turn-in.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance per Army manuals.
• Ensure safety and environmental compliance during servicing.
• Repair engines, transmissions, brakes, steering and hydraulics.
• Document inspections and maintenance using Army forms.
• Maintain work orders and parts requisitions; assist with records.
