Job summary

Walker Lovell, a leading materials business, seeks an experienced heavy equipment mechanic to diagnose, repair and maintain diesel-powered mining, quarry and construction equipment (CAT, Komatsu, Volvo). This hands-on role offers responsibility across mobile and fixed assets in a stable operating environment.

You will perform preventative maintenance, rebuild components, weld and fabricate as needed. Requires 5+ years in heavy equipment repair, a valid US driver's license, and high school

Qualifications

  • 5+ years' experience repairing heavy mining, quarry or construction equipment and diesel engines.
  • Hands-on knowledge of CAT, Komatsu and/or Volvo heavy equipment.
  • Valid US driver's license and a high school diploma or GED.
  • Mining experience is highly valuable, with trade certification and/or a CDL advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair diesel-powered heavy equipment across mining and quarry operations, including CAT, Komatsu and Volvo machinery.
  • Maintain mobile and fixed equipment, completing preventative maintenance and resolving mechanical issues to maximise reliability.
  • Rebuild and replace mechanical components using a broad range of hand and power tools.
  • Weld, cut and fabricate components as required to support safe, effective equipment repairs.
