Job summary

Waltonen Engineering is actively seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The role involves operating and inspecting defense vehicles and other heavy equipment, diagnosing defects, and performing maintenance and repairs to ensure proper function.

You will work with project managers to complete tasks on schedule and ensure safety and quality standards are met. Candidate must have at least two years of mechanic experience with engines and heavy equipment, hold a valid driver’s license,

Qualifications

• Two years of work experience as a mechanic, specifically with engines and heavy equipment.
• Must have physical stamina to perform maintenance tasks while standing for extended periods.
• A valid driver’s license and fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English are required.
• US citizenship is required; ability to obtain a security clearance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate and inspect various machines and equipment to diagnose defects and maintenance needs.
• Dismantle and reassemble equipment, ensuring proper functioning.
• Use hoists and hand tools to perform repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Examine parts for damage or wear and replace as needed to maintain performance.

Waltonen Engineering is actively seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team!

Responsibilities

• Operate and inspect various machines and equipment, including defense vehicles, to diagnose defects and identify maintenance needs
• Dismantle and reassemble equipment efficiently, ensuring proper functioning
• Use hoists and a variety of hand tools to perform repairs and maintenance tasks
• Thoroughly examine parts for damage, wear, or other issues, making necessary adjustments or replacements for document catalog
• Collaborate with Project Manager to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks and adherence to project schedules

Qualifications

• A minimum of two years of work experience as a mechanic, specifically working withengines and heavy equipment, is required
• Must possess the physical stamina to perform maintenance tasks while standing for extended periods
• A valid driver’s license is required, along with fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English
• Knowledge of PCs, including proficiency with Microsoft Office software products
• Only United States citizens can be considered for this position
• Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working with military vehicles is a plus
• Familiarity with tactical wheelor tract vehicle experience
• Automotive or defense mechanical experience is a plus
