Job summary

Vermeer Southeast Sales & Service, Inc. seeks a skilled technician to provide exceptional customer service in our dealership by accurately inspecting for defects and diagnosing equipment, performing necessary services within the allotted time.

You will maintain and repair mechanical, hydro-static, hydraulic, electrical, and CAN/BUS systems, record diagnoses, order parts, estimate repair time, and attend required technician training classes while adhering to safety precautions.

Qualifications

• 2 years technical training or equivalent in heavy equipment.
• Ability to read schematics and repair various systems.
• Owns a basic set of diagnostic tools; specialty tools provided.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair mechanical, hydro-static, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems.
• Diagnose equipment failures and perform necessary repairs using diagnostic tools.
• Record diagnoses, order parts, and estimate repair time.
• Attend required technician training classes.
• Follow safety precautions common to equipment.

About the role

Provides exceptional customer service in dealership through accurate inspections for defects and equipment diagnoses, and performs necessary services in the allotted time frame for each job.

What you'll do

• Maintenance and repair of mechanical, hydro-static, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems
• Demonstrated abilities to diagnose equipment failures and perform necessary repairs utilizing appropriate diagnostic tools.
• Record and document the diagnoses and procedures, order necessary parts, and estimate time to complete equipment repairs.
• Attends and successfully completes required technician training classes
• Working knowledge of the hazards and practical application of safety precautions common to equipment

Qualifications

• 2 years technical training/certification or equivalent heavy equipment industry experience
• Ability to read schematics and repair mechanical, hydro-static, hydraulic, electrical, and CAN/BUS systems
• Must maintain a proper minimum set of tools to diagnose, disassemble, and reassemble components for most equipment repairs (specialty tools are provided)
• Basic oxy/acetylene cutting and welding skills
