Job summary

Vermeer Southeast is seeking a skilled field technician to diagnose and repair heavy equipment across mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and CAN/BUS systems in our Florida dealership.

You will inspect equipment, document diagnoses, order parts, and estimate repair times while completing required training and adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• 2 years technical training or equivalent heavy equipment experience.
• Ability to read schematics and repair multiple systems (mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, CAN/BUS).
• Own a minimum set of diagnostic tools; specialty tools provided.
• Basic oxy/acetylene cutting and welding skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair mechanical, hydro-static, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems.
• Diagnose equipment failures and perform necessary repairs using diagnostic tools.
• Record diagnoses and repair procedures, order parts, and estimate repair time.
• Attend and complete required technician training classes.
• Follow safety precautions for equipment operation and maintenance.

About the role

Provides exceptional customer service in dealership through accurate inspections for defects and equipment diagnoses, and performs necessary services in the allotted time frame for each job.

What you'll do

• Maintenance and repair of mechanical, hydro-static, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems
• Demonstrated abilities to diagnose equipment failures and perform necessary repairs utilizing appropriate diagnostic tools.
• Record and document the diagnoses and procedures, order necessary parts, and estimate time to complete equipment repairs.
• Attends and successfully completes required technician training classes
• Working knowledge of the hazards and practical application of safety precautions common to equipment

Qualifications

• 2 years technical training/certification or equivalent heavy equipment industry experience
• Ability to read schematics and repair mechanical, hydro-static, hydraulic, electrical, and CAN/BUS systems
• Must maintain a proper minimum set of tools to diagnose, disassemble, and reassemble components for most equipment repairs (specialty tools are provided)
• Basic oxy/acetylene cutting and welding skills
