A leading company in the construction industry seeks a Heavy Equipment Mechanic for full-time work in Virginia. The role involves repairing and servicing vehicles and heavy machinery while ensuring a safe and compliant work environment. Candidates should have at least three years of experience and a valid driver’s license, with responsibilities emphasizing teamwork and safety protocols.

General Description: Under the direction of Lead Mechanic and Equipment Operations Manager, the Heavy Equipment Mechanic performs general mechanical work in repair and maintenance of automotive and construction/asphalt equipment. Responsibilities include repairing and servicing vehicles and equipment, and maintaining shop cleanliness.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Support equipment maintenance operations, participate in safety initiatives, ensure compliance with laws and policies, perform routine and advanced maintenance, repair powertrain components, troubleshoot electrical and suspension systems, maintain a clean work environment, complete inspection records and work orders, and work collaboratively to meet team goals.
Qualification Requirements: Requires previous experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, a high school diploma or GED preferred, and a valid driver’s license with a good driving record. Minimum of three years of experience required.
Physical Demands: Must be able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 90 pounds, use manual dexterity, and work in various weather conditions. Certification to enter confined spaces and the ability to climb on heavy equipment are required.
Work Environment: Outdoors in all weather conditions, exposure to noise, grease, dust, and working near heavy machinery. Substances like oil, grease, and fuels are present on-site.
Safety Commitment: Actively participate in safety procedures, use PPE, report hazards, and promote a safety-first culture.
