Terradyne Engineering in Texas is seeking a skilled Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles and equipment, ensuring safe operation and high-quality workmanship.

The role emphasizes troubleshooting, routine maintenance, and accurate documentation while adhering to safety standards in an outdoor work environment. Candidates should have diesel tech training or related military experience and be comfortable with heavy machinery.

Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of experience as a mechanic or technician.
  • Trade School in Diesel Tech, Apprentice Program or military experience preferred. Certified diesel mechanic with heavy machinery experience is desired.
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs.
  • Love and enjoy working outdoors.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Always adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical procedures
  • Must be a self-starter, reliable, and come with a good and humble attitude
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read schematics.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and kneeling.
  • Exposure to noise, fumes, and varying temperatures.
  • Mechanical aptitude; robust problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.
  • Basic computer skills such as Word and Excel.
  • Basic Math knowledge.
  • Clean MVR, background, and drug screening.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Tasks assigned by the supervisor or manager

Responsibilities

  • Diagnosis and Repair: Inspect vehicles and equipment to identify mechanical issues.
  • Use diagnostic tools and equipment to determine the cause of problems.
  • Perform repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, and other systems.
  • Replace or repair damaged parts and components.
  • Welds as needed.
  • Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance on vehicles and equipment, including oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks.
  • Ensure that all maintenance work is performed according to manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and parts used.
  • Provide detailed reports on the condition of vehicles and equipment.
  • Customer Service: Communicate effectively with customers to explain issues, repairs, and maintenance needs.
  • Provide estimates for repairs and maintenance work.
  • Safety: Follow all safety protocols and procedures while working.
  • Ensure that the work area is clean and organized.
  • Collaboration: Participate in training and development opportunities to stay current with new technologies and repair techniques.
  • Great attention to detail is required
  • Reporting any issues to the supervisor/manager
  • Any other task requested by the supervisor/ manager
